CHICAGO — One person was shot and three others have been injured in an incident Tuesday evening at Chicago Union Station that halted Amtrak service in and out of the station for about an hour.

The Chicago Tribune reports the man who was shot has been taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, about 1 ½ miles away, in “traumatic arrest,” according to a Chicago Fire Department station. The victim was initially treated on the platform between tracks 28 and 30. Amtrak halted all service as of about 5:30 p.m.; its Amtrak Alerts Twitter feed reported service had resumed about 6:30 p.m., but residual delays were expected.

The other people who were injured, which included an Amtrak police officer, were not shot, but also required transport to local hospitals for treatment. They were reported to be in stable condition.
