BALTIMORE — The B&O Railroad Museum has launched a new website, borail.org, giving the Baltimore museum the first update of its online presence in more than a decade.
Designed in conjunction with marketing firm Mission, the new site offers highlights from the museum’s collection, access to its digital archives, virtual tours, and other features.
“The experience the visitor feels online vs in person or even via social media was no longer aligned,” Kris Hoellen, the museum’s executive director, said in a press release. “The visitor experience now begins online with compelling content that brings the stories of railroad’s place in American history to life before someone sets foot in the building and leaves them motivated to visit to continue their journey learning the story of America.”
The website update is part of the museum’s plan to prepare for the 200th anniversary of American railroading in 2027.
