NRC Conference to feature UP’s Fritz, presentations from all Class I railroads

Logo of the National Railroad Contractors and Maintenance AssociationPHOENIX — Union Pacific CEO Lance Fritz will be the featured guest speaker and all seven Class I railroads are scheduled to outline capital spending plans for the year at the 2022 National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association Conference set for this week in Phoenix.

The conference kicks off with a Wednesday evening reception, with events and presentations running through Saturday. Trains News Wire will provide full coverage.

Along with the Class I railroads, other companies and agencies scheduled for presentations are short line firms Watco, Genesee & Wyoming, and Patriot Rail ; Alaska Railroad and Montana Rail Link; and Chicago’s Metra, Capital Metro of Austin, Texas, and the LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency.

Also on the agenda are panel discussions on signals and communication, rail sustainability, and transportation legislation; a presentation by independent rail analyst Anthony B. Hatch and Greenbriar Equity Group Managing Director Michael Weiss; and awards presentations for 2021’s projects of the year and the NRC Safety Awards as well as individual awards.
