Rookies START HERE: Railroad in a Box introduces the QuickieLine layout building kit for O-27 trains. The outfit contains precut, clearly identified pieces of foam board to build a 5-foot 4-inch by 3-foot 4-inch (expands to 8 feet) layout to which the modeler adds track, trains, buildings, and scenery. The QuickieLine kits make layout building easier and faster, and are designed to get kids and novices started in the hobby. The pieces, which you assemble with white glue, form a layout capable of two-train operation. The railroad features a crossover, four bridges, a viaduct, and two mountains with tunnels and a waterfall. Internal ribs and profiles add strength and shape to the benchwork.  The horizontal pieces are printed in color and outline a town with streets, sidewalks, and a park as well as a river with a dock. Track locations are also noted, as are track radii, grades, and change in levels. Trains and track are not included. The QuickieLine kits are made in the U.S.A. and sell for $349 plus shipping. Kits come with an easy-to-read illustrated handbook. For more information or to order, go to www.rrinabox.com.
