LET’S HAVE A BARN DANCE: The latest Built-&-Ready Structure from Woodland Scenics is the no. BR5865 Old Weathered Barn. The O gauge structure has a fieldstone foundation, shingled roof, hayloft door, and weather vane above the cupola. It also has a concrete grain silo, implement shed, paned windows, and traditional barn doors. The structure is equipped with LED lights and a printed interior. THE SEASON’S REASON: Monsignor Sherman Council 5103 of the Knights of Columbus (Glendale, N.Y.), is offering a 2018 Keep Christ In Christmas boxcar. The first of a series, the O gauge cars made in the U.S. by Lionel. The car costs $85 with shipping included. Preorders placed from outside the U.S. must add $15 extra for shipping. GET IT STEAMING: The Railroad Museum of Long Island has launched a campaign to restore Long Island RR no. 39, a Pennsylvania RR class G5a 4-6-0 steam locomotive, to full operating status. As part of the fundraising drive, the group is offering a custom-run “Steam Up! LIRR 39” boxcar. Made in the U.S. by Lionel. The O gauge model features locomotive blueprint-style graphics and both Railroad Museum of Long Island and Strasburg RR logos. Although orders must be received by June 1, 2018, a small number of extra cars will be available for late orders. The car costs $85, shipping and restricted membership included.
