Mars logoLOMBARD, Ill. — Carrie Evans, vice president and chief commercial officer of Iowa Interstate Railroad, was elected president of the Midwest Association of Rail Shippers at the organization’s winter meeting earlier this month.

She succeeds Stefan Loeb of Watco, who remains one of the organization’s officers as immediate past president.

“I look forward to the renewed growth of this vital organization in 2022,” Evans said in a press release. “We are positioned for continued success thanks to the tireless work by the previous executive team under the able leadership of Stefan Loeb.

“The team met the unprecedented challenges of the past two years with enthusiasm, creativity, and determination that we will continue. Our shipper and rail industry members look to MARS for information on current industry trends and for valuable networking opportunities. I am committed to fulfilling that important role.”

Also elected were First Vice President Kathy Bathurst of CSX Transportation and Second Vice President Matt O’Kray of Genesee & Wyoming. New executive committee members are Justin Broyles, R.J. Corman; Kristina Chambers, TTX; Nick Clark, Canadian National; and Jim Titsworth, BNSF Railway.

The next MARS meeting will be July 18-19 at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wis.
