Sound Transit logoSEATTLE — Sound Transit has named Brooke Belman, the agency’s current chief of staff, to serve as acting CEO as of May 31. Belman will succeed Peter Rogoff, who will depart on that date, until a new permanent CEO is selected.

Belman joined Sound Transit in 20024 and has served in roles including Deputy Executive Director, Land Use Planning and Development; Chief of Staff, Design Engineering and Construction Management; and Director of Community Engagement.

“Sound Transit will not miss a beat as Brooke steps forward to lead during the final phase of our CEO search,” Sound Transit board chairman Kent Keel said in a press release. “Brooke brings seasoned leadership, deep knowledge of Sound Transit’s work, and a strong commitment to our riders and the public as we advance the nation’s largest transit expansion.”

Keel chairs the board subcommittee conducting a national search for the new CEO. The subcommittee is scheduled to select finalists this spring to be considered by the full board.
