ORANGE, Calif. — Jason Jewell has been appointed interim managing director of the LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency, which oversees Amtrak Pacific Surfliner service in Southern California.
Jewell was appointed unanimously by the LOSSAN board of directors, effective April 18, the agency announced Tuesday. He will also continue to serve as chief financial officer, a position he has held for seven years. He previously spent more than 10 years at the Orange County Transportation Authority.
“I am honored for the opportunity to serve the LOSSAN Agency as the Interim Managing Director,” Jewell said in a press release. “I am committed to working closely with the LOSSAN board and staff to advance the Agency’s goals, including the further restoration of the Pacific Surfliner service as travel demands increase while also advancing projects that will benefit the LOSSAN rail corridor both now and in the future.”
He succeeds Donna DeMartino, who had been managing director since January 2020.
