PETALUMA, Calif. — Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit will add five weekday round trips beginning June 13 as part of a new schedule restoring service discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new schedule includes three added morning trips in each direction — from Sonoma County Airport at 4:39, 6:38, and 7:42 a.m., and from Larkspur at 6:08, 8:16, and 9:20 a.m. — and two additional afternoon round trips. Those include southbound trains departing Sonoma County Airport at 2:53 p.m. and 6:05 p.m., and northbound trips departing Larkspur at 4:31 p.m. and 7:43 p.m.
“I am truly excited that SMART is adding this many trips back to its weekday schedule,” said
David Rabbitt, chair of the SMART board of directors, in a press release which includes the complete new schedule. “Offering 36 weekday trips gets SMART back to pre-pandemic levels of service, and this will help meet the increasing demand we’ve been experiencing.”
