Accucraft, 3260 Central Ave, Union City CA 94587, has announced Talyllyn Railway’s locomotive No. 1 “Talyllyn” in 1:29 scale. The live-steam 0-4-0ST engine will be butane fired and available in 32mm and 45mm versions. Each version is available in three different colors: TR Green, red, and black. The Train Department, 26 Coral Dr, Hazlet, NJ 07730, announced a live steam Heisler kit in 1:20.3 scale. The engine is designed and built by Regner for The Train Department, and will feature a steam boiler with poker tube burner, a sight glass and Goodall valve, and more. LGB (Märklin), P.O. Box 2649, Lake Ozark MO 65049, is selling a powered tender with sound (L69576), meant to accompany American-style LGB starter sets. The tender provides sound effects and additional pulling power. It includes a sheet of stickers to customize the road name. It’s meant for analog operation only. Price: $329.99. LGB also offers a starter track set (L19904), which includes 12 pieces of 11000 curved track, track clips, a 120-volt power source, locomotive controller, and feeder wires. It can be powered from an internal battery (not supplied), or an external DC power supply. Price: $90. The firm also offers an Automatic Train Control, designed for unattended operation in public displays, where either the viewer can start the train with the push of a button, or the train will start automatically at timed intervals.
