Get a behind-the-scenes look at the layout that inspired the CTT holiday favorite, "I Want an Electric Train for Christmas," and learn how Dave Goddard runs 11 trains at once.
Love the schematic of the layout. The layout itself is, needless to say, fantastic. Super job, Dave!
Dave is a great host! Nice layout!
This lay out is just awsome. i wish i new dave so i could visit all the time & play trains. great job & thanks for sharing.
What fun!!
Great layout and guided tour which provided me with several ideas for my layouts. Wonderful piece.
Yes! those Lionel illustrations were fantastic. The colors, landscapes and buildings just evoke mid-20th century. If I had a layout like this I'd try to recreate a scene from a 40's or 50's catalog too! I remember finding my dad's old Lionel catalogs from 1938 – 1950, I'd look at them again and again. Great fun!
Great Layout! Love the you described the scenes on each level! Thanks so much for sharing! Happy new Year!
What a great layout experience.
This was great, thanks for sharing this. Now I want to see more action layouts like this instead of just photos & words in the magazine.
i need to get back to work on my layout. great video.
The Noise of the Trains is Music to my ears.
KEEP THEM ROLLING.
Very Good.
Very Nicely done. I was impressed at how he discribed each loop making it very easy to follow.
I enjoyed watching your presentation, it was both informitive, fun and I got more ideas for my layout. I built a building (Man cave) in our back yard for trains only it is 12 x 16 foot with electric and heating/cooling. I have worked 16 month on the layout (8x12foot) and am in the final stage of my layout the scenary. Hope it turns out as well as yours !!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what it is all about. Imagination at its finest. I remember things from the 40s and 50s that I tried to recreate. I never thought of looking in a catalog to aid my imagination. Great job.
great job
being only a few years behind you, I too have my first lionel set from 1957, and it has taken me 54 years to build my dream layout from those same lionel train catalogs. The best part of your layout is the story behind the trains. As in mine and yours as well, the trains are the actors in a play that reflects the best part of our imaginations. Something a video game cannot teach us. We learned so many skills as young boys, electrical, carpentry and mechanical. Little did we know that someday we would use them all again in building your dream layout. Thank you for sharing your trains and your dream world. It is truly fun.
the best Ive seen.
I enjoyed the layout and guided tour. Watching all the trains running was great. Wish i had that much room.
Fantastic layout! Thank you for the tour!
Vey enjoyable.
Spectacular!
Great layout!! I only wish I had the space to build one like it. In time I may be able to expand what I have now. TKS for sharing
In a word "Awesome!!"
Wonderful! The droll commentary makes this great fun, but also the track plan is a dimension usually lacking from videos and that greatly helps. Some of us are "runners" and like to see lots of action, which might not be prototypical, but is certainly eye-candy, noise and great fun! Enjoyable.
