The layout is 5 x 9 feet. It features a postwar freight powered by Lionel’s 726 Berk and an MPC Congressional set powered by my custom painted GG-1. This is the first time a “G” has been on my Christmas Layout. This passenger train is one serious holiday train. The layout is minus the snow this year because we have a one year old Cocker Spaniel who likes to play Godzilla on the layout.

  1. great work with the track lay out and building placement,it keeps your interest with the two trains operating plus all the operating accessories

  2. Great layout! How about publishing a CTT article with photos and several of the track diagrams they've used over the years.

  3. I'm a long time follower of Janis on U-Tube and I must say she has some of the best videos. This one is no exception, thanks CTT for showing it. Merry Christmas..Frank

  4. Great Holiday Layout! Brings back wonderful memories of my Lionel Layout from years past. Happy Holidays!

  5. great layout…im retiring soon and looking forward to making my own…thank you for reminding me..have a blessed new year

  6. Hello Janis: Again wonderful train action, Nice layout Indeed
Merry Christmas from Eastern Ontario, Canada. Steve

  7. A most unique track arrangement. Trains seem to change direction, but always in the direction of shear enjoyment. Thank you, and Merry Christmas.

  8. Interesting layout and execution. In my opinion, running both trains at a somewhat reduced speed would greatly enhance the overall impact of the entire presentation.

  9. What a great layout. It took me a while to figure out how the inner loop ran around it self in a double figure eight…..I'll try to build something like it for my 11 year old grandson who loves trains.

  10. This is simply wonderful! Love that chugger on the inside and the passenger on the outside. Crossing trains are timed to the second.

  11. Janis is an absolute genius at creating interesting layouts. I don't know how long she has been creating her Christmas layouts as I first discovered her just last year. How about publishing a book of her layouts? I'm sure there would be a lot of interest.

  12. Marvelous work. All the operating accessories add greatly to the overall effect. The GG1 looks particularly impressive. Congratulations and Merry Christmas.
