Inspired by a lifelong love of American Flyer trains and the beauty of his home, New England, Dick Iannacone built this highly realistic 16 x 20-foot S gauge layout set in the steam-to-diesel transition period of the late 1930s into the 1950s. Enjoy additional photos of his outstanding layout in the gallery below.

Clean, colorful and fun to watch! Great job
A wonderful layout. I would love an article on how he made the sky so realistic.
Lots of great scenes……I like the way you incorporated the
motorized accessories into the scale scenery.

Beautifully orchestrated. S scale is still a dream for me to get, this adds to the fire. Thanks and WOW ,too.
Roger Carp you provided a great article on my brother's S-Gauge layout. My deep appreciation to you and CTT for the presentation. I enjoy visiting Dick's home to see the operation every August on our vacation to New England. My wife and I are looking forward to the trip again this year. The layout is outstanding with tremendous details including Fenway Park! Dick has many S-Helper, AM and original American Flyer Classics to showoff on his S-Gauge operation. I'm also an S-Gauge collector and operator. My brother and I only know American Flyer as we lived some 38 miles from the manufacturing plant in New Haven growing up. Our first train was a 312 Pacific and four cars.
Again, Thanks to you Roger and Classic Toy Trains for showcasing one of the most impressive S-Gauge layout attractions to your readers.
