Broadway Limited Imports offers the HO scale 2-8-0 decorated for Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe; Bangor & Aroostook; Canadian National; Canadian Pacific; Chicago & Alton; Chesapeake & Ohio; Central of Georgia; Great Northern; Lake Superior & Ishpeming; Seaboard Air Line; Southern Ry.; Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo; Union Pacific; and Western Maryland. A painted black but unlettered Consolidation is also available.
Features on the Broadway Limited Imports HO 2-8-0 include a die-cast metal boiler, tender body, and chassis; a five-pole can motor with skew-wound armature; and a built-in capacitor pack. The capacitor pack is automatically disabled on the programming track for full compatibility with JMRI Decoder Pro.
The 2-8-0 also has a dual-mode Paragon4 sound and control system, which includes Switcher Mode for low-speed control, a quillable whistle, adjustable bell ringing interval, and individually adjustable sound volumes for each effect. There’s also a Johnson Bar sound effect when the locomotive changes directions, and the chuff sound intensity varies with the load.
Additional details on the Consolidation include a separately controllable headlight, reverse light, cab light, and front marker lights; factory-painted and installed engineer and fireman figures; and freestanding handrails, grab irons, ladders, piping, cab glazing, whistle, bell, and markers. The model is equipped with traction tires and has a minimum recommended radius of 18”.
