HAMILTON, Ohio — The second structure of Hamilton’s former Baltimore & Ohio depot is slated to be moved on Tuesday, joining the first building that was relocated in December, the Hamilton Journal-News reports.

The one-story building will make a roughly 1,100-foot journey along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from CSX Transportation property to a city-owned lot, joining the two-story building that was relocated Dec. 20 [see “News photos: Hamilton, Ohio, station on the move,” Trains News Wire, Dec. 20, 2022].

Work continues on the first building, with concrete masonry being built around its foundation. The mortar in that construction must set for at least 28 days before the building is lowered onto the new structure.

Once both buildings are in place, they will be restored to what is known as “white box condition,” ready for conversion to suit a business occupant. No specific use for the relocated station has been determined.
