BNSF Railway logoWASCO, Calif. — BNSF has reopened its main line on the Bakersfield Subdivision in the San Joaquin Valley, the railroad reports in a service update to customers.

The route, closed since approximately 1:30 p.m. PST on Saturday because of a washout, was reopened at 12:07 a.m. PDT today (Monday, March 13).

There was no immediate news about the status of Amtrak San Joaquin service between Fresno and Bakersfield, which had been canceled because of the washout, but the San Joaquin Twitter feed says two trains scheduled for today — No. 702, the 6:26 a.m. southbound departure from Sacramento to Bakersfield, and No. 717 from Bakersfield, scheduled to depart Sacramento at 8:05 p.m. — have been canceled because of “unforeseen crew issues.”
