JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – CSX Transportation has promoted Casey Albright to senior vice president of network operations and service design as part of leadership changes in the operating department.
Albright, who headed service design, is taking on the network operations responsibilities that were handled by Brian Barr, who left CSX to become senior vice president of transportation at Union Pacific.
Casey has held a variety of service planning, locomotive management, and network operations roles since joining CSX in 1998.
“Casey’s knowledge of our network and proven leadership skills will enable us to continue improving safety, service and efficiency as we grow the business,” Jamie Boychuk, executive vice president of operations, said in an email announcing the changes last week.
Guy Seguin was promoted to vice president of network operations from general manager of dispatch. Chantel Goutcher was promoted to head of service design from senior director of operations integration. Wally Sieruga, general manager of the operations service group, had his responsibilities expanded to include TRANSFLO operations.

Casey is a man. Search engines are Useful, whether built by DuckDuckGo, Google, or Alco. That press release was done to artfully NEVER reveal which Casey was without being the usual Woke clumsy about it. Will see CSX next month and see if Fewer Slower and Longer is still The Rule!
Hmm, is this a pattern? CSX ships a failed exec to UP, who then passes him/her to NS, who then puts him/her out to pasture. Sick.
It’s not Precision, it’s not Scheduled, and it’s barely Railroading. It’s a crumbling clay idol covered over with gold-tinted housepaint from Home Depot. As long as the railroads bow and huzzah in worshipful devotion to the PSR idol, that’s all that matters.

Failure is not an option for American railroading. No way trucks and planes could replace it.
Will this be enough for CSX to change course? Or, is this crowd going to stick with PSR formula, only saying they will do it “better” than Barr? If so, that is the definition of insanity; doing the same failed thing expecting a different outcome.
