A coalition of eight shop craft unions have reached a tentative agreement with Amtrak, the unions announced Friday.
The TCU & Shop-Craft Coalition said in a brief statement that it had reached the agreement on Thursday, March 23. “We appreciate the patience of our members, and we will be providing all the details of this great agreement,” the coalition said. Terms of the agreement have been approved by Amtrak’s board of directors and will be presented to union members for ratification soon.
The coalition consists of The Transportation Communications Union; International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers-Mechanical Department (SMART-MD); the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen; the National Conference of Firemen & Oilers; the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; Transport Workers Union; American Railway Airline Supervisor Association; and International Brotherhood of Boilermakers.
