Bowser HO scale SD30C-ECO. A modern-era diesel from Bowser Manufacturing Co. Inc. recently visited our HO scale Wisconsin & Southern project layout. Join Model Railroader editor Eric White and senior editor Cody Grivno as they talk about the features and operate the Canadian Pacific SD30C-ECO.
The Bowser SD30C-ECO is decorated for Canadian Pacific in 12 road numbers (six each for those delivered in 2013 and 2015/2016). The model features an injection-molded plastic shell, die-cast metal chassis, and a cab interior.
Additional features on the modern six-axle road locomotive include General Motors Diesel Division steps; factory-applied air hoses, m.u. hoses, drop steps, and windshield wipers; a brass bell and bracket; and factory-installed and painted wire grab irons. The model is fitted with Kadee couplers.
The SD30C-ECO rides on Dofasco trucks with blackened metal RP-25 contour metal wheels. The model is equipped with a can motor.
Direct-current models with a 21-pin socket for a Digital Command Control decoder (sold separately) are priced at $239.95. Versions with DCC and a LokSound V5 sound decoder are priced at $339.95.
