LOS ANGELES — Southern California commuter rail operator Metrolink is bringing back its $15 Summer Day Pass — offering unlimited one-day rides on the Metrolink system — as of today (Tuesday, May 30) through Friday, Sept. 1.

The Summer Day Pass complements existing $10 Holiday Pass and $10 Weekend Day Pass programs. The pass is available through the Metrolink Mobile App, and for the first time will also be offered at Metrolink ticket machines.

“Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer and all the fun festivities associated with the great SoCal weather – backyard barbeques, swimming, fairs, fireworks and let’s not forget travel,” Metrolink CEO Darren Kettle said in a press release. “Thanks to the positive customer response to the $15 Summer Day Pass last year, we are pleased to offer it again this summer. The $15 Summer Day Pass is an affordable ticket option for customers to enjoy weekday summer adventures to the beach, mountains, and entertainment venues across Southern California.”

Passes purchased for travel within Los Angeles County include free transfers to the LA Metro subway, light rail, and bus network. The Summer Day Pass was introduced as a pilot program in 2022 and attracted 2,140 new riders.

  1. A nice customer friendly move that should help build ridership at times that they have the extra capacity.
