The Metropolitan Division of the Train Collectors Association (METCA) recently announced the following custom-run models from Atlas O, Lionel, and MTH Electric Trains. Here’s a rundown of the O gauge models the group is offering.

Atlas O
Leading off this year’s lineup of METCA Division custom-run models is an Atlas O Berwick Forge & Fabricating 60-foot hi-cube double-door waffle-side boxcar. Paint schemes will include Chessie System (with Baltimore & Ohio and Chesapeake & Ohio reporting marks), Penn Central (Deepwater Green), and Conrail (Penn Central patchout). The cars, scheduled for release in the second half of 2024, are priced at $99.99 each or $189 for a two-pack.
Lionel
Among the Lionel locomotives offered by the METCA Division are a Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern Electro-Motive Division SD50 diesel locomotive (Paid in full, $599.99 with free shipping; deposit, $150.99 plus $20 shipping added to balance due), New Hope & Ivyland 2-8-0 Consolidation steam locomotive No. 40 (Paid in full, $849.99 with free shipping; deposit, $200.99 plus $25 shipping added to balance due), and Lionel Lines and Tuskegee Airman P-51 Mustang Red Tail airplane Electro-Motive Diesel SD70ACe diesel locomotives (Paid in full, $649.99 each with free shipping; deposit, $150.99 each plus $20 shipping added to balance). The Lionel models are scheduled to arrive between mid- and late-2024.
MTH Electric Trains
Wrapping up the list of METCA Division custom-run models are an MTH RailKing Imperial Scale 0-6-0 steam switcher decorated for The Baldwin Locomotive Works (Paid in full, $499.99; deposit $150.99 plus $20 shipping added to balance due) and a Texas Special wide-cupola caboose ($89.99). The locomotive is scheduled for release in mid-2024, and the caboose is due out by the end of 2023.
Orders must be placed online at metca.org/store.html by August 20, 2023 to guarantee an item. After that, production quantities will be set and remaining inventory will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
