Rene Schweitzer has been promoted to editor of Classic Toy Trains magazine. Rene has been with Kalmbach for nearly 28 years, and has worked for a number of brands, most recently CTT, Model Railroader, Classic Trains, and Books.
Rene started her career working for CTT in 1995, and returned to the brand in 2014 as Production Editor. She is excited to assume the editor position and looks forward to working with contributors new and old.
Rene and her husband Jim have a toy train layout in their basement (a former CTT project layout with a Halloween theme), and plenty of O gauge items throughout their house. In her spare time, you can often find Rene either on her bike, gardening in her backyard, or reading a book.

What Happened to Hal Miller?
My thoughts, exactly. I chatted with Hal at the Kalmbach booth in the Orange Hall at this past spring’s York Meet. Congrats and all the best to Rene.
I’m sorry to say that Hal Miller is no longer with Kalmbach Media. He left the company in mid August.
