ORLANDO — Brightline has introduced a new All-Station Shared Pass for frequent travelers between Orlando and South Florida, offering consistent fares over a 90-day period.

The pass is good between Orlando and any of the five South Florida stations — West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, and Miami — and is good for 12 rides in 90 days. It can be shared between friends and family, and is priced at $1,199 for Smart service and $2,299 for Premium service.

“The All-Station Shared Pass is designed for guests who plan to travel frequently between South Florida and Orlando, and want ultimate flexibility to book trips on demand with consistent fare rates and no unexpected fees or blackout dates,” Barbara Drahl, Brightline senior vice president of marketing and commercial strategy, said in a press release. “The pass can be shared to book rides for friends, family, and colleagues, putting guests in control to embark on adventures, business meetings, and cherished family getaways with ease.”

The company is also introducing its SoFlo Solo Pass, which replaces the current commuter pass and offers 40 rides in a 30-day period at prices starting at $399 for Smart class. The pass is valid for travel between all south Florida stations, offers 15% savings for monthly auto-renewal, and offers other specials and discounts. A Premium version is also available. The previously offered Family and Friends Pass is being renamed the SoFlo Shared Pass; it continues to offer 12 rides in a 30-day period for prices starting at $229.

More information on all the passes is available on this page on the Brightline website.

  1. A lot of writeups in the various press that these prices are over the top. Several reviewers who have actually ridden the service say the premium seats are excellent and the service top shelf, but premise it with the fact there was no way they would pay that much out of their own pocket.

So one of two things will happen…..the Euro vacation crowds will be so large with their included Brightline passes, they will keep the prices afloat for a few years, or…..look for the amenities to start to disappearing within a year as they lower the prices to develop the domestic marketplace.

Since the domestic summer vacation season is pretty much over, there are 2 markers to watch for. The British Invasion of tourists before the American holidays, or the Italian spring breakers next year. Time will tell.
