ANAHEIM, Calif. — LA-area commuter rail operator Metrolink will revive Angels Express service after a five-year hiatus, offering round-trip service to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Los Angeles Angels baseball home games, as well as midweek games against the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 26, Sept. 3, and Sept. 4.
Round trips will operate from LA Union Station, Riverside Downtown and Oceanside on the Orange County and Inland Empire/Orange County Lines. (Oceanside service is subject to change; service to Oceanside is currently suspended because of landslide issues in San Clemente).
Round-trip tickets will be just $10; up to three youths 17 and under can travel free with one paying adult.
Schedules are available here. Trains will depart Anaheim 30 minutes after the game’s final out, or 30 minutes after the conclusion of fireworks on fireworks nights.
Metrolink becomes the second commuter operator in a week to announce the return of service for major league baseball games. The Twin Cities’ Northstar service announced last Friday it would operate trains for 38 Minnesota Twins games this season [see “Northstar commuter service to Twins games …,” Trains News Wire, March 9, 2024].
