The excursions will operate over BNSF from Chicago to Quincy, a route shared by regular service Amtrak trains. Tickets will be available one way from Chicago to Galesburg and Galesburg to Chicago as well as for a round trip ride from Galesburg to Quincy and return. The train is scheduled to lead Chicago at 9:00 a.m. each day
The train was one of two built in 1936 for the Burlington. They first operated between Chicago and the Minneapolis and later between Chicago, Omaha, and Lincoln, Neb. It was retired in 1968 and acquired by IRM the same year.
