MISSOULA, Mont. — Tom Walsh, who has been with Montana Rail Link since the railroad’s inception, has announced his retirement as the company’s president. Stacy Posey will become the new Montana Rail Link president, effective Jan. 1, 2019, the company announced Monday.
Walsh has been with MRL for 31 years.
“My time at Montana Rail Link began two weeks before our first day of operations,” Walsh said in a press release. “I feel fortunate to have been part of MRL since its inception and to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented group of people over the years. It has been especially gratifying working with the Washington family and the other Washington Companies over my tenure. While it is difficult leaving the company after so many wonderful years, I know that it is in capable hands with Stacy at the helm, and I look forward to watching its continued success under his leadership.”
A search for Posey’s replacement as vice president of operations is under way. In other moves, Heather Mattson will become MRL’s vice president, finance, effective Oct. 1, 2018, succeeding Tim McHugh, who will join Washington Corporations as executive vice president.
