A westbound coal train derailed on single track at approximately 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. MRL spokesman Jim Lewis tells Trains News Wire that about 40 cars went off the rails. No one was injured in the incident.
Lewis says MRL’s main line through the area will be closed until at least Thursday morning. While MRL reopens its main line, the railroad is staging trains east and west of the derailment while detouring others via BNSF Railway’s former Great Northern route.
