LOS ANGELES — Commuter rail agency Metrolink has begun offering free-ride vouchers for those impacted by Southern California’s wildfires.

The Metrolink effort joins one by Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner, which is offering $10 fares between any two locations on the San Luis Obispo-San Diego LOSSAN corridor.

Metrolink is working with local aid groups and elected officials to provide vouchers for those displaced by the fires to reach family members, shelters, resource centers and other critical destinations. The vouchers feature a promotional code that must be redeemed for tickets prior to boarding; those tickets are available at ticket machines at any station or at Metrolink’s ticket windows at LA Union Station.

Metrolink staff will also be on hand at the Santa Anita Park resource center today (Jan. 17, 2025) from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to distribute vouchers and provide information on public transportation resources.

The Surfliner fare discounts began Jan. 13 and will continue through Jan. 24; tickets must be purchased by today (Jan. 17). More information is available here.
