JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Members of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers have ratified a new five-year agreement with CSX Transportation, the railroad announced today (March 3, 2025).
“IAM’s ratification is a testament to the strength of our partnership with union leadership,” CSX CEO Joe Hinrichs said in a press release. “This underscores our commitment to fostering a workplace where every employee feels valued and respected. Together, as ONE CSX, we will continue enhancing safety, efficiency, and service to secure sustained growth.”
The IAM vote gives CSX ratified agreements with 11 unions covering 14 work groups and 47% of its unionized workforce. The railroad says the agreements provide equivalent wage increases, health care, and paid time-off benefits.
The agreement with the machinists was one of seven tentative deals announced last August [see “CSX adds more union agreements,” Trains News Wire, Aug. 23, 2024].
