LAS VEGAS – Railroad wheels wear over time. When they do, they affect the performance and reliability of the freight or passenger car or locomotive that they help carry down the tracks. Gordon Bachinsky, founder of Wheel Rail Seminars and the Wheel Rail Interaction conference lays out the basics for Trains‘ Steve Sweeney with model rails and wheels.

More than 200 attendees are in suburban Las Vegas this week to learn the ins and outs of matching the best in wheel shapes and maintenance practices with the best for rails. And as technical as certain presentations can be, the basics are easy to grasp.

Trains Magazine is a presenting sponsor of this year’s event. For more information, go to www.wheel-rail-seminars.com.
