ST. LOUIS — Amtrak has partially restored Missouri River Runner service between St. Louis and Kansas City, beginning operation of one daily round trip as of this morning.
The morning departure in each direction — Train No. 311, which leaves St. Louis at 9:15 a.m., and train No. 314, an 8:15 a.m. departure from Kansas City — have resumed operations. The afternoon departures in each direction, trains 313 and 316, remain suspended with charter-bus service covering the route and serving all stations. Amtrak cautions that delays should be expected. Riders should check the Amtrak website or smartphone apps for additional information.
Host railroad Union Pacific has been rerouting additional freight traffic onto the line because of flooding elsewhere in the Midwest, leading to suspension of Missouri River Runner service as of May 22.
