EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – Metro East Industries has released the first Terminal Railroad Association “comfort cab” locomotive from its paint booth. No. 4001 is a one of two SD60I units the railroad has acquired from Metro East. These two locomotives are the first comfort cab-equipped power for the short line and will be used primarily on heavy transfers that cross the Mississippi River into St. Louis, Mo.

No. 4001 was built as Conrail No. 5612 while No. 4002 was built as Conrail No. 5631, both constructed in 1995. TRRA traded in SD40T-2 No. 3001 and SD40R No. 3003 to Metro East as part of the SD60I purchase.
