CORVALLIS, Ore. – Organizers for annual multimedia show and sale Winterail have “postponed” the 2020 event due to the COVID19 coronavirus outbreak in the Northwest. The news comes from a statement posted to the Winterail Facebook page.
“Due to information from the State of Oregon, we’re sorry to announce that Winterail has been postponed,” the post reads. “We will reschedule to a later date and all tickets purchased for 2020 will be honored. Watch for updates on Winterail.com and thanks for your understanding.”
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown issued on Thursday Executive Order 20-05, which outlines rules addressing large gatherings and social distancing. That order limited public gatherings to fewer than 250 people.
“We are now in an unprecedented public health crisis, a rapidly-evolving global pandemic. Most of us have never experienced anything like this,” Gov. Brown says. “What is clear is that we must take immediate action to stem the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, and act now to protect those who are most vulnerable.”
