VSA Inc., the Lincoln, Neb.-based parent company of Heartland Hobby Wholesale, recently acquired Model Rectifier Corp. (MRC) of Edison, N.J.

Model Rectifier Corp. will operate as a sister company of Heartland Hobby Wholesale. Akiko Kimura will be president of MRC and Donald Boyce will serve as executive vice president.

  1. Hmmmm. I wonder how much people in Heartland know about model railroading in general and DCC/DC power systems in particular. MRC has a simple and straightforward basic DCC offering for smaller layouts but a slim set of products for major expansion to large layouts. (e.g., no utility throttle.) And their decoders are far from state-of-the-art units like those from Soundtraxx, Loksound and TCS. Be interesting to see what, if any, changes/improvements they encourage for the MRC lineup.
