As a vender told me, kids and parents don’t blink to spend $300- 400 on a computer or games. So we will have to live with the cost for high quality trains that run well and look great.
Once again, not one item for S scale. A sad state for American Flyer fans.
Prices are obscene. How is the hobby going to survive when no one can afford to buy anything? Kids sure won’t pick up the hobby. Time to go back to scratchbuilding.
Re the MTH DC locos. Are the internal control boards DCC Ready? If so, 8, 9, or 21 pin connector? Important to me since I do not want any MTH loco equipped with their home-brand decoder.
Re the Bachmann “Russian” decapod. Since these were originally designed for Russian wide gage track, when returned to the US they were equipped with very wide tread driver wheelsets so that the flanges were correct for our size track without changing the location of the siderods and pistons. Wonder if Bachmann provided wide treads to match the prototype? These locos did not ride well over turnouts with self-guided frogs.
