The system. Walthers’ modular system starts with single-story plain wall sections. Other matching wall panels are available with a variety of doors and windows that may be positioned as desired. The parts come molded in a brown brick color, concrete gray, dark gray, and dark green. Clear molded windows are also included.
All of the walls have interlocking tabs to create inside corners. The tabs fit into pilasters to make outside corners and intermediate straight joints. Each wall panel has a top lip, so they’re stackable.
Flat base sections hold the walls together and in alignment. The main floor can be raised for use with the loading docks and stairways provided in the foundation sets. A choice of ends and cornices will finish off the walls.
Roof panels, corrugated awn-ings for the loading docks, chimneys, and vent details complete the basic modular system.
My sample structure took a couple of hours to design and build using common plastic modeling tools and liquid plastic cement. It has pieces from five different parts packages, but there’s plenty of material left for future projects.
All the completed building needs is a little paint and weathering and some details (not included) to give it a final touch of realism.
Overall, Walthers’ Modulars offer a lot of flexibility that kit- bashers will enjoy.
