I am always on the lookout for new N scale products that come on the market. Sometimes they turn out to be fairly good, but other times they turn out great. But as always, new items are fun!

I love all kinds of bridges, and when I find a new line of bridge kits on the N scale market, I’m in heaven! I’d like to share with you a few new items from a Canadian company called Hunterline. (1072 Riverbank Dr., Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, N3H 4R6, Phone (866) 934-4174, email: rick@hunterline.com, www.hunterline.com).

To start off, you might like to know that the Hunterline has been producing craftsman quality kits in multiple scales for some time now. I have a number of their kits myself and have found all of them “first class” and easy to build. Go to their Web site and have a look at what they to offer.

But like any good company, they just weren’t satisfied with what they were offering. There are so many prototype bridges out in the world that are begging to be modeled and these folks can produce the kits.

In the past, all of the Hunterline model bridges used regular dimensional timbers. You know, the “square” type you most commonly see associated in bridge building. But many bridges were built by driving regular round “trees” into the river bed and then building a deck on top of them.

Here was the problem: There weren’t any companies out there that produced round wood stock in the correct size to make these new kits. What’s a company to do? What else, but make a special run of product just for their line of kits. And once Hunterline had their new “round stock,” the rest was easy.

In their new line of products, you’ll find a Timber Pile Pier, a Timber Framed Pier, and a wonderful 81-foot Pile Trestle. All of these kits are of first quality and are very easy to construct. All of the kits are now available in multiple scales for every modeler.

If you’re in the middle of a massive layout expansion, or like me just love bridges you just can not go wrong with the first class line of products from the Hunterline Company. These kits are fun, easy, and produce a finished product that any modeler can be proud of. And when you contact the Hunterline Company, tell Rick “Hi from Dennis” for me! Have fun!
