The Atlas RSD-12 has some detail; molded-on grab irons, separately applied brake wheel, clear window glazing, places for M.U. hoses, and it sells for about $70.00.
Although this model is a discontinued product, it has a Kato motor, twelve-wheel electrical pick-up, twelve-wheel drive, non-directional headlights, and horn-hook couplers.
I’ve replaced the horn-hook couplers with standard Kadee #5 magnetic knuckle couplers to allow it to operate with the rest of my equipment. The model can pull about 20+ cars on straight level track. I would give this product an 8/10. I have only two of these models for helper service and I hope Atlas might reproduce it soon.
