Correct proper name of the A&EC is Atlantic & East Carolina, not Eastern. A&EC was absorbed by the Southern Ry in 1956 and their pair of F2A became Southern 400 & 401. Both got fully repainted and re-lettered as Southern in 1957, joining Southern’s other pair of F2A, Southern (A.G.S.) 6700, 6701. Southern 400 & 401 were both retired and scrapped in 1961.
