Seth Gartner’s HO scale Piney Fork Branch models a New York Central branch line in eastern Ohio in the 1960s. The multilevel layout also features an extensive steel-mill scene.

  1. FYI – unlike the longer layout tours found on MR Video Plus, these bonus videos are taken by the photographer during the photo shoot. His primary job is to get photos for the magazine, and he takes quick video clips as time permits. Then we post the clips as an online bonus. That’s not to say we won’t revisit a railroad at some point to shoot a longer video, but it’s a much more involved process.

  2. I agree that the complete layout should be seen versus just trains at a couple scenes. The MR article just made me want to see more of it. The track plans in the article had obvious mistakes compared to the pictures.

  3. Nice job like the slow operations, Steel Mill looks great as well.. Would be nice to see it’s details.

  4. It would have been nice to see an overall view of the layout. I suppose that will come in the August issue. I enjoy watching these videos.

  5. That steel mill is massive. I have always thought that the lightening stripe made for a fine look. Beats the heck out of the licorice stick appearance of later years.
