  1. Wonderful review and camera work. I sure enjoy seeing an excellent model like this on the equally excellent MR&T. Well done to all, and thank you !

  2. Holy Screamer, Batman! The Yellow Beast runs amuk on the Mert! Wow- would only look great on a large layout or mantle. Let’s turn Pelle loose on Tony’s three-level shelf of tracks. Pelle would make a model desert realistic and big enough for Big Blow action to be in a rightful place!

  3. I picked up mine a few weeks ago and have yet to run it on my club’s layout. Hopefully that will change next weekend. The details are amazing. I hope to see some more great work from the Scale Railroad folks.

  4. Dana, you do the best locomotive reviews! Always enjoy seeing the new products run on the MR&T. Keep showing us more of the layout and tight camera angles.
These are great models and enjoyed seeing/talking to the ScaleTrains crew at StL RPM and Trainfest this year about their new products. These are detailed to the max! Thanks for showing them.

  5. As nice of a model as it is, I think the turbine sound would get very annoying after a few minutes. It certainly did in the video.

  6. I think it’s a great looking model and am waiting for their next release. However, the wheel squeal is a bit too much. Is there a way to mute that?

  7. Well guys I bought one of the Museum Quality models from, “Scale Trains.com” It is a very nice model. Still waiting on my brochure of the Cv and value settings. Have yet to see it in my mail box. no color brochure either. Otherwise a nice model overall.

  8. Very good sound. As one would notice, there was no change in volume once the turbine got cut in. Turbines run at two speeds, on and off. And, as I said when Cody reviewed this engine, you were lucky it was only a model. as the heat from the turbine exhaust would have melted the camera. I believe UP special instructions on turbine unit operations was not to leave one under an overpass.
