This HO scale General Motors Diesel Division (GMDD) models a Canadian-built version of the SD40-2 diesel-electric locomotive. The model accurately depicts its CP Rail prototype, including functioning classification lights. An ESU LokSound Select decoder provides realistic sound and lighting effects and operates on Digital Command Control (DCC) and direct-current (DC) layouts. Watch the locomotive run on our DCC equipped model railroad.

  1. I own 2 , they are really great running AND pulling engines. VERY happy with them. They are a welcomed addition to my CP family of engines. I did however by 1 without sound and added Tsunami sound to it , it sounds good and personally I have always used Tsunami for my engines, but after buying a unit with LokSound , I may jump on the LokSound band wagon for my future installs. Great sounding and very realistic. I give Bowser 5 Stars *****

  2. As an owner of this locomotive, I can say, definitively, that yes, it does have working ditchlights and numberboard lights. My only beef is that 1) the numberboards are tied to the headlight. I’m not sure if this is a programming setting on the decoder or hardwired at this time, and 2) on some models, there is some bleedthrough of the classlights on the roof of the cab, near the seam with the rear hood. this is easily fixed by some black paint on the inside, or some black electrical tape (again, inside)

  3. Really nice for a semi-modern engine. Although not mentioned, it did appear to have working ditch lights, right?
