  1. I just don't seem to grasp the concept of decoders and analog setups. Do you have a video that explains what these things are and the advantages or disadvantages. I am getting
set to begin on my first layout and I need to understand about these different running modes so I now how I want/need to do the wiring and so on.

  2. Great Video. I wouldn't recommend running any train on carpet.
I have had no troubles installing DCC decoders with sound on any diesel set. It's a little bit more difficult on steam as you have to take into account the physical location of the decoder (and speaker). Also, if a steam engine has a smoke unit – that should be wired into the pickups.
The only other thing to consider with DCC is the cost of the controller(s), boosters, decoders, speakers, and of course, the time to install, test, program and re-test.

  3. Great video about starter train sets. Cody does super work. Do you have any article in print on selecting a new starter train set for beginners?

  4. It would be helpful for you to tell people if these trains are easily changed to DCC. Thanks for good videos.

  5. you guys always do a good job on your videos on your website…but how does a father with a new train set access these set up videos without being a subscriber..??
