A Siemens press release reports the Mireo Plus H will have an operating range of up to 600 kilometers (373 miles) and will be tested for a year in the region around the city of Tübigen, near Stuttgart As part of the project Deutsche Bahn is developing a new system that can refule the train as quickly as a diesel-powered train. The test is scheduled to begin in 2024.

Alstom announced Thursday it would build six trainsets built on its Coradia Stream, with an option for eight more, for Lombardy’s Ferrovie Nord Milano.
