NYC Transit subway line could see service cuts because of vandalism
Vandalism on New York City Transit’s 7 Train subway has become so extensive that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority may be forced to cut service on the line because of a glass shortage. The New York Daily News reports 39 windows were broken on three cars of a train on Wednesday, and as many as 200 broken windows may have been replaced this month. Earlier this month, New York police released a photo of a man they said had broken 200 windows on 63 trains since March. Each window costs approximately $500 to replace.

KCS receives logistics award
Kansas City Southern has been recognized with a Quest for Quality award from Logistics Managament magazine, winning the award for Rail/Intermodal Service Provider by leading in on-time performance and customer service and tying for first in equipment and operations. Transportation companies are ranked on five categories, the others being value and information technology. “We are so pleased to have received this recognition from our customers and Logistics Management magazine,” KCS executive vice president and chief marketing officer Mike Naatz said in a press release. “A core part of the KCS vision is to be the most-customer focused transportation service provider in North America, so this validation from our customers is important.”
