NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A violent storm Thursday damaged the shop facility where the Nashville Steam Preservation Society is restoring Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis locomotive No. 576, as well as the Tennessee Central Railway Museum. Nashville Steam reports there were no injuries, but high winds and debris destroyed a portion of the structure housing No. 576, leaving the locomotive, tools, and other equipment exposed to the elements.

The group is seeking donations to repair the building and replace damaged equipment while it works with its insurance provider and further assesses damage. A form for online donations is available here.

The Tennessee Central Railway Museum is also inviting donations as it assesses damage. Information on donating to the museum is available here.
