  1. Is there anything on a 4 X * platform as that is the size of a standard sheet of plywood.

  2. GB16 (grandson #16 who love trains like I do) saw this plan over my shoulder and is now all enthusiastic about building this with PaPa and using his "old" train. (mine when I was his age. about 5). Plan is just what we were after and it looks great! We hope to have it done real soon. He thinks about 1 hour should do it. ha!

  3. this is an excellent plan to add on to as an extension from another plan in my layout. it is really hard to stop dreaming and just go build

  4. I have always enjoyed looking at the track plans your fine magazine but now that Lionel has invested a lot of time and money producing their Fast Track for American Flyer, how about some plans for us American Flyer enthusiasts? Many of the track plans that I am aware of date back to the 60's and are for the old style American Flyer track.

  5. this is a great starter layoutfor sure. to bad my first table was only padio carpet abd two ovels and a busted up switch now its a 4×12 L shaped table.
(if you want to see the layout fallow me on youtube at trainfanatic12)

  6. Lionel sold the main part of this layout in a box set. I always thought if you added a pair of switches at the bottom of the X you would close a mainline outer loop which would give you even more operating fun.

  7. i've got a 6×16 addition to my current 8×16 layout which I might use this with some modifcation as I want two different levels thanks for sharing

  8. I think it would be possible to fit this track plan on a 4×8 sheet of plywood.and I will do it for my 5 year old grand-daughter. She loves running trains on my 25×15 layout. She will love having her own.

  9. This wonderful plan originates in the out-of-print Kalmbach publication of "Track Plans For Sectional Track" by the late Linn Westcott.. It's found on page 26 as layout # 129 (027, 0 and #130 Ho & S scales)

  10. Thanks for the free preview, I'm always interested in track plans, I'll have to check out the others!

  11. looks like aVerry nice layout option plenty of trackside industrial space and expantion oppertunities great plan.

  12. great design for for beginners like my self. O gauge is not sold much from where i live in Australia.but will chase it up. i also agree good for grandads and grandsons.

  13. If I didn't already have a layout, I would like to build this one.
It looks like a good layout for a father and son or grandfather and grandson to build together.
