Have you seen the Menards 2023 Halloween village items yet? My husband and I have been waiting for them to show up on shelves, and this past weekend, they finally were out.
There are a number of pieces you might like to add to your layout, and figures too. Without delay, here’s a look at what I found.
This pumpkin house seems useful for both S and O gauge modelers, though the door is grossly oversized. I didn’t see a box for it on the shelf, so it might be sold loose with just a tag.
I believe this is the second year this Pumpkin Hollow water tower has made an appearance. It would be easy to swap out your regular water tower for this holiday version, if you already have a water tower on your layout.
Here it is lit up in their display. It’s next to a neat skeleton “balloon” display. The skull rotates in a circle.
While the electrical house in this photo is neat, what I really liked was the eyeball fence. It’s a separate piece and could add a fun touch to anything you might already have on your layout.
Do you like pirate ships? There’s a massive one on display too. It seems too large for most layouts (unless you have a temporary/seasonal display with more space).
Both of these smaller structures are on the smaller side, and might fit in well on your layout. I especially like the greenhouse with the zombie inside.
Here is the greenhouse, mansion, and two other structures on display. At left in the second row, the large spider moves up and down.
More structures. The lighting effects on all of these was great.
While the figures in this set were quite oversized, for the $20 price tag it was worth the structure that was included. You could position the figures further back, or use in a non-layout display instead.
Do you like figures? I look forward to Menards figures each year and have quite a few of them. The price is good, about $2 each, and they are a fun mix of spooky and cute pieces. If you’re lucky, you can even find a clearance piece from last year.
Bonus rolling stock photo! I spotted this flatcar with load and bomber art boxcar on the shelves near the other model train items.
What are you most exited about?
Find all of these and more on the Menards website. Find their line of model train items at menards.com/trains.
Here’s a Halloween project I did last year with a Menards Halloween piece.
Great finds, I don’t have Menard’s here in North Carolina, but plan to order a few pieces online to display this fall, thanks for sharing!
