An Electro-Motive Division SD70MAC road diesel locomotive has joined the Atlas O Premier Line. Paint schemes include BNSF Ry. (green and cream), CSX (dark blue and yellow), Lake State Ry. (blue and gray), Metra (blue, black, and orange), Paducah & Louisville (green and white), R.J. Corman (50th anniversary scheme), and Union Pacific (“We Are One” and Big Boy escort, one road number each). The six-axle road diesel is available in two numbers per scheme unless noted. Features include an ABS body; die-cast metal truck sideframes, pilots, and fuel tank; and ProtoSound 3.0. The Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers (NLOE) 2023 club car is this center-beam bulkhead flatcar decorated for the Long Island Rail Road. The custom-decorated Lionel car, offered in one road number, will operate on O-31 curves. Additional features include die-cast metal trucks with operating couplers; a removable, wrapped lumber load; and metal wheels. Only 200 cars will be produced, and they will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Automatic enrollment as an associate member of the NLOE is included as part of the purchase price. The LIRR center-beam flatcar is priced at $64.99 plus $14 shipping for the first car and $7 for each additional car. Residents of New York state must multiply the subtotal by 8.625%. The Desert Division of the Train Collectors Association offers an Atlas O Premier Line cylindrical hopper car decorated for Saddle Mountain Brewery. The O gauge car costs $79.95 plus shipping and delivery is expected in the spring of 2024. Order at tcadd.org
Accessories and details
Menards is manufacturing another of its accessories for O gauge layouts. The O Scale Dual Bridge With Lights (No. 2759125). This two-track bridge measures 18 inches long and 8¾ inches wide, and it has a clearance of 6 inches high. Choose from white or colored lighting in either steady or chase modes. The lighting requires a 4.5-volt power supply, sold separately (Menards Nos. 279-4061/4361, 4062/4362, or 4050). Menards has released 40-foot container cars in four new names: Maersk (275-9065), American President Lines (275-9067), Hapag-Lloyd (279-8371), and OOCL (279-8371). The 43rd edition of Greenberg’s Lionel Trains Pocket Price Guide, 1901-2024 is in stock now.
