In early July, Classic Toy Trains traveled to the International Toy Train Expo in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The show is sponsored by Menards, Kalmbach Media, Model Train Classics LLC, and Operation Lifesaver. This video includes a sneak peek at upcoming Menards O gauge products — and much more!

I’d like to see Menards at York! Since Lionel didn’t come this spring, it would be great to see what they have and are planning to offer.
Carl, I am hoping to be in the US (from Australia) in late June/early July next year. Has a date and location been decided yet for the 2020 expo?
Not much in the way of 0 gauge toy trains out here nowadays – our manufacturers Robilt, Ferris and Maurlyn lasted only from the end of WWII until about mid-1960’s, by which time Hornby 0 (British) had just about finished too. .
I agree with Joe…..and it begs the question how many brick & mortar train hobby shops will be around 5 years from now with competition from the internet and deep pockets Menards. I think all retail sectors are experiencing this “go big, or go home” phenomenon.
So how does Menards produce such quality train products at such a low price as compared to Lionel’s prices? It reminds me of K-Line when it was at it’s best.
Thanks for that Carl! Wisconsin’s a long way off for a lot of us, so I appreciate you being our “eyes and ears.”
And I see you followed the old show-biz adage in the video, “Always leave them wanting more!”
